Will you charge me for teardown if I decide to buy a new electric motor?

Many Times, Yes. For a repair to be quoted there are labor costs involved with this process. If a customer decides to buy new instead of repairing the unit, this cost will be added in the price for new. There is also value that you receive in seeing what caused the motor to fail so that you can stop it again. If you are price conscious, there are many ways to eliminate or reduce this cost.
