Low Voltage VFD
Do low voltage VFDs cause premature bearing failure?
Low voltage VFD’s can, in certain cases, cause current to circulate through the shaft and into the bearings, which then cause microscopic pitting from arcing between the balls and the race. This harmful issue can be, almost, completely eliminated with proper shaft grounding.
